ENTERTAINERS AND EVENTS

Brackendale Art Gallery hosts artists' workshops and theatre productions two or three times a year, concerts about once a month and the occasional adventure slide presentation.

Over the years many of Canada's best loved performers have played at the Gallery including Alex Bruhanski, Norm Foote, Roy Forbes, Paul Hann, Dan Hill, Paul Horn, Joe Mock, Anne and Jane Mortifee, the Purcell String Quartet, Rick Scott, Tamahnous Theatre, Shari Ulrich, Gordon White, and the ever popular, Valdy!

Stone carving, tool making, and direct plaster workshops with sculptor and Capilano College instructor George Rammell have been highly successful as were many other workshops in watercolour, mask-making, oil painting, mixed media, clay and theatre arts.

At the 30 Year Anniversary Celebration Dinner, George Rammell was honoured with the prestigious Brackendale Eagle Award for Excellence. Bill Reid's right hand man on many of his major sculptures, George is a sculptor and Capilano College teacher. George is honoured for his generous support of the Gallery through workshops in tool making, stone sculpture, wood carving and plaster, sharing his immense knowledge, experience and relentless enthusiasm with groups of eager participants.
